With a rich history that started in the 1970s when Bob Hansen first started in the memorial industry, Hansen Monuments has transitioned into its second generation of memorialists. And the third generation is working his way through college with the family business.  Please take some time to meet our full-time staff so that we will know how to best serve you.

Kathy (Hansen) Donahue

Kathy is a 1983 graduate of Central Community High School in De Witt, Iowa and the American Institute of Commerce in 1985. Kathy began working with her family in 1988 and she purchased Hansen Monuments in 1999. Kathy attained Certified Memorialist status in 2006 through the Monument Builders of North America, the industry’s highest degree of achievement.
Kathy has pledged herself to serving you and your family with care and dedication, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and business ethics.

Steven McDonnell

Steve graduated from Central Community High School of DeWitt, Iowa in 1979 and attended St. Ambrose College. He trained under Bob Hansen for several years before trying his hand at a different career in manufacturing. After several years of being away from the monument industry, Steve came back to work part-time at Hansen Monument before returning full-time in 1995.
Along with training under Bob Hansen, Steve has also attended “Rock Camp” and the Elberton Granite Training Instutute  in Elberton, Georgia. Steve’s skill and training is exercised every day as he puts his heart and soul into every memorial he designs and engraves.

Evie Fischer

Evie joined Hansen Monuments in 2007 on a part-time basis before becoming full-time in 2008. She is also a graduate of Central Community High School (1997) and attended Scott Community College. Evie is the major multi-tasker of the group.  She has developed her designing skills by working side-by-side with Kathy and attending several national monument conventions and educational seminars on designing memorials.

Kevin Hansen

Kevin joined Hansen Monuments in 2006. He also graduated from Central Community High School and the University of Iowa. Kevin works in many aspects of the business from foundation work and setting to engraving and shape carving. His youthful energy gives us the power to take on more and more projects.
