Memorials & Monuments

Choosing the proper memorial should be a careful consideration of honoring life that has been lived. We believe in working with each family to create memorials that are unique and representative of your loved one. With your help, we can design your family’s memorial or monument to tell your story and leave a legacy for generations to come.

When selecting a memorial, there are many different styles available. We’ve included a brief description of the most common types below. For more specific ideas or examples, please view our online gallery. You can also contact us at any time with questions.

Upright Memorial

Upright MemorialUpright memorials are designed with height in mind, giving the memorial a high visibility within a cemetery. These memorials are constructed with at least two pieces of erect granite, but they are able to be created in all shapes, sizes and colors. Additionally, they can provide a large surface area for engraved messages or images.

Slant Markers

Slant MarkersA slant marker is a piece of granite that sits directly on the foundation and is angled back in a wedge-like shape. This is an economical way to place a memorial that is still taller than the bevels or flat markers, but more affordable than an upright style. If you prefer the slanted shape, but want it set up taller, a base can be placed underneath, just like the upright memorials. These are called Western Slants.

Bevel Markers

Bevel MarkerA bevel marker is like a flat marker, but it has a two inch grade on the top that allows water to flow off more easily. Bevel markers typically sit above ground at between six and eight inches.

Flat Markers

Bevel MarkerA flat marker consists of either granite or bronze and is typically set flush with the ground. Most memorial parks require a bronze marker that is attached to a granite pad. Some upright cemeteries have a special section for flat markers but depending on cemetery regulations you can choose granite or bronze.
